CollegeApp is a free tool for personal college preparation use. You own your data. The AI coach provides general guidance — it is not professional college counseling advice and shouldn't replace your school counselor. Be respectful, don't abuse the platform, and don't resell or redistribute our content. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms.
By creating an account on CollegeApp ("Service," "we," "us") at collegeapp.us, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you.
CollegeApp is a web-based college preparation platform that helps high school students organize and track their college applications, deadlines, essays, test scores, activities, and financial aid. The Service includes an AI-powered coach feature for essay and interview practice, powered by Anthropic's Claude API.
You must be at least 13 years old to use CollegeApp. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 13 or older. Users under 18 should have parental awareness of their use of the Service.

The AI coach feature provides general guidance for college preparation purposes only. It is not professional college counseling, academic advising, or any form of licensed professional advice. AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not applicable to your specific situation.
You should independently verify any information provided by the AI coach and consult your school counselor, college advisor, or other qualified professionals for personalized guidance. CollegeApp is not responsible for decisions you make based on AI coach responses.
You retain full ownership of all content you enter into CollegeApp — your essays, activities, academic information, and all other data. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your content.
You are responsible for ensuring that the content you enter does not infringe on the rights of others and complies with applicable laws.
The CollegeApp platform, including its design, code, features, and content (excluding user-provided data), is owned by CollegeApp and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without our prior written permission.
Your use of CollegeApp is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
CollegeApp is currently offered free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features or plans in the future. If we do, we will provide advance notice and you will not be charged without your explicit consent.
You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.
We reserve the right to discontinue the Service at any time. If we do, we will provide reasonable advance notice where possible.
CollegeApp is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CollegeApp and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of college application opportunities, or reliance on AI-generated content. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which may be zero if you use the free tier).
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be resolved in accordance with applicable law. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you by email.
