The short version
CollegeApp is a subscription-based platform for personal academic and college preparation use. You own your data. Sofia and Katy are AI assistants that provide general guidance — they are not professional tutoring or college counseling services and do not replace your school counselor or teachers. We help you prepare, but we don't guarantee admission, scholarships, or any particular scores or grades. Be respectful, don't abuse the platform, and don't resell or redistribute our content. We can suspend accounts that violate these terms.
By creating an account on CollegeApp ("Service," "we," "us") at collegeapp.us, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you.
CollegeApp is a web-based academic and college preparation platform for high school students. The Service includes:
You must be at least 13 years old to use CollegeApp. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 13 or older. Users under 18 should have parental awareness of their use of the Service.

Each person may maintain only one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent subscription restrictions is not permitted.
New accounts receive a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. A valid payment method is required to start a trial, but you will not be charged during the trial period. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription begins automatically at the end of the trial using the payment method on file. You may cancel at any time before the trial ends to avoid any charge. If a subscription later lapses, your data is preserved so you can resubscribe.
After the trial, continued access requires an active subscription:
All prices are in USD. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout depending on your location.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You authorize us to charge your payment method on file at the start of each renewal period. If a payment fails, we will retry the charge and notify you by email. After a 7-day grace period without a successful payment, your account will be suspended until billing is resolved.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your Account Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access until then. We do not provide partial-period refunds for monthly plans except as described in the Refunds section below.
Monthly plans: if you are unsatisfied within 7 days of a charge, contact us at info@collegeapp.us and we will issue a full refund for that billing period.
Annual plans: refunds are available on a prorated basis within 30 days of the annual charge if you have not made significant use of the platform during that period. After 30 days, annual plan payments are non-refundable.
We reserve the right to change subscription prices. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any price increase by email and in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date of a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.

They are not professional tutors, college counselors, academic advisors, or any form of licensed professional service. AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or not applicable to your specific situation.
You should independently verify any information provided by Sofia or Katy and consult your teachers, school counselor, or qualified professionals for personalized guidance. CollegeApp is not responsible for decisions you make based on AI assistant responses.
You retain full ownership of all content you enter into CollegeApp — your essays, activities, academic information, and all other data. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your content.
The CollegeApp platform, including its design, code, features, flashcard content, and other materials (excluding user-provided data), is owned by CollegeApp and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the platform without our prior written permission.
Your use of CollegeApp is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without prior notice depending on the severity of the violation. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately and your subscription will not be refunded except as described in Section 5.
We reserve the right to discontinue the Service at any time. If we do, we will provide reasonable advance notice and pro-rate any prepaid subscription fees.
CollegeApp is a preparation, study, and organization platform. We help you learn, practice, and manage your applications — but we do not guarantee any particular result. We make no promise or guarantee that you will be admitted to any college or program, receive any scholarship or financial aid, or achieve any specific test score, grade, or GPA. College admissions and these other outcomes depend on many factors outside our control and beyond the Service.
Any practice scores, AP score estimates, timelines, examples, or guidance provided through the Service — including by Sofia and Katy — are for informational and study purposes only and are not predictions or assurances of actual results. You are responsible for your own applications, deadlines, and decisions.
CollegeApp is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CollegeApp and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of college application opportunities, or reliance on AI-generated content. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the total subscription fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be resolved in accordance with applicable law. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you by email.
