The short version

CollegeApp uses only essential cookies — specifically the session cookie that keeps you logged in. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser, but the app will not work without the authentication cookie.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide information to site owners.

2. How CollegeApp Uses Cookies

We use cookies only to keep you logged in. CollegeApp does not use cookies for advertising, behavioral tracking, or analytics. We do not share cookie data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Cookies We Use

Authentication Cookies (Essential)

These cookies are set by Supabase, our authentication provider, and are strictly necessary for the Service to function. Without them, you cannot stay logged in.

No Tracking or Advertising Cookies

CollegeApp does not use:

  • Google Analytics or similar analytics services
  • Facebook Pixel or other advertising trackers
  • Hotjar, FullStory, or other session recording tools
  • Any third-party marketing or retargeting cookies

4. Local Storage

In addition to cookies, CollegeApp may use your browser's local storageto save UI preferences such as theme (light or dark mode). This data is stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

5. Managing Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Here are instructions for common browsers:

Please note: if you disable or delete the authentication cookie, you will be logged out of CollegeApp and will need to sign in again. The app cannot function without this cookie.

6. Third-Party Cookies

The authentication cookies are set by Supabase (supabase.com/privacy), our database and auth provider. No other third-party cookies are placed on your device by using CollegeApp.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we introduce new cookies or change how we use existing ones, we will update this Cookie Policy and revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated by email or an in-app notice.
